See Madonna play Live in Rome!!!

The Queen of Pop will be greeting Rome with her presence as part of her Sticky & Sweet tour, at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 6th Sep 2008. Not only will she be doing all the golden oldies “Like a Virgin” “Get into the Groove” and “Like a Prayer”, for her younger fans, songs such as “Music” “Beautiful Stranger”, “Hung Up” and “4 Minutes” are bound to make for a fantastic night of girly singing and dancing.

Not only has Madonna had a 25-year career in which she has impacted not only the course of popular music but on popular culture itself, she has also been able to whack out an incredible 18 albums and 13 number ones, she also starred in the fantastic “Evita” alongside Antonio Banderas in 1996, which won an Academy Award for Best Music, Original Song (You Must Love Me), Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Song from a Movie (Don’t Cry For Me Argentina), a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Best Original Song and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture and more.

For the millions upon millions of fans out there who are desperate to see Madonna play live, this concert at Stadio Olimpico is the perfect answer. With lots of Rome apartments and Rome hotels near to the Stadio Olimpico available, you’ll be only minutes away from the stadium and can make the most of your break in Rome and even do some sightseeing at the Coliseum, St Peter’s Cathedral and the Trevi Fountain whilst you’re there.

Madonna’s image is ever changing and over the last 25 years she has become a fashion icon, adorning some of the most interesting outfits in the public eye, such as her cone boobs in the eighties, her onstage kiss with Britney and Christina and her 80’s cruxifix, leather and lace look are just some of the things that we associate with Madonna, not to mention her trademark beauty spot and gap-in-between-the-teeth. Certainly a woman who knows what she wants, Madonna is said to have caused rather a lot of tension on her Sticky & Sweet tour in London, when at a Radio 1’s Big Weekend she used the F word several times when speaking the audience.

However, Madonna’s live shows are legendary: the peroxide crackle and fizz of Blonde Ambition, the sleazy abandon of The Girlie Show and the jaw-dropping theatrics of Drowned World have been cited as ground-breaking in their innovation and spectacle. Her 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor, sold millions of copies and the accompanying tour the following year was a huge critical and commercial success. Be sure to get your Rome accommodation early to make sure you get to see this fantastic show!
