Ode to the Green Spaces

We’ve already spoken about partying, food, sightseeing and festivals… But the “romantics” amongst you out there have started complaining: “Where can we go after dinner if we’ve already seen everything?” Many people believe that Rome is one of the most cosmopolitan cities with the least greenery in Europe, but this isn’t true. There is a great abundance of parks which will transport you to an oasis in this chaotic city, literally minutes from Rome apartments and Rome hotels.

The Orto Botanico is one of the biggest green spaces in Rome, with more than 3,500 species of plants. In amongst these you will find a very special collection of bamboo and a tree with more than four hundred years in its rings! Incredible eh?! But there is more than just plants and trees. There is also an area called “The Scent Garden” because it was created specifically for blind people and it is a garden that you explore through smell and touch.

Other important parks include; “The Villa Borghese Park” and the gardens of “Villa Medici”. They both offer unique experiences and a pleasant atmosphere to visitors.

So there you have it, not only does Rome have monuments, beautiful Rome accommodation and brilliant food, it also has greenness to offer!
